Underground MMA is led by owner Jannsen Tariga. Jannsen trained under Frank Shamrock for +20 years and is one of his few students to receive the highest level “black shirt” ranking. Jannsen was the head instructor for Frank and worked with him to formalize and develop the Shamrock training system, continuing to evolve the techniques for today’s environment.

The Underground MMA team consists of instructors that have worked with Jannsen as part of Shamrock MMA / Underground MMA and have many years of experience in the system working together, competing at the professional and amateur levels, and working as instructors. The team (and their years in the Shamrock system) consists of James Rodriguez +20 years, Ernesto Heredia +15 years, Jon Adams +15 years, Lucas Alonso +15 years, and Tony Nguyen +10 years.
